Building a Startup

Fall 2009, several minutes days after the name Scoutmob was coined and the idea was still in the gestation period, I was brought as a contractor to concept and design the logo, splashpage & site designs, an iPhone app, emails and little bits of collateral here and there. It launched in January 2010 and gained traction... fast. I came on full-time that summer and knocked out close to a million (slightly rounding up) various design elements. We launch two seperate websites, Hand-Picked to sell events and Shoppe as a full-fledged e-commerce site. Along the way we sent a billion emails (not rounding up), threw some kickass parties and played countless doubles ping-pong matches. A random assortment of design projects are below.

Posterizing Switchyards

This was one the more serious side of projects that I've worked on. I was brought in to work alongside the very talented Mason Poe of Edgar Allen to help design the UN Missions website for their 2015 summit in NYC.

Cooking with an App

While working on contract with the immensely talented Everyday Industries, I worked on the first version of Blue Apron's iPhone app. While following BA's styleguide, we created detailed wireframes and final design mockups.

A Personal Chef

Orginally known as Real Meal Delievery, these guys came to Swithchyards Downtown Club's start-up labs looking for some help. We renamed them to Saige, and changed the business model from ordering a limited selection of prepared/hot meals to your door to a custom chef service that creates meals for you and your family based on your taste preferences and dietay needs.

Single Batch Goodness

Branding work for my business partner and world-class bread butterer Barrel Proof Apps. Andrew gave me full reigns to design his logo in the vein of whiskey/bourbon labels. Even more amazingly, he let me print the cards at Henry & Co. letterpress. The cards have black foil on one side, and copper on the other. The double-thick cards are made from melding two heavy weight cards together. This one was a fun and rare project.
